Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LangDoc, a doc editor that translates what you write as you type (the "Service"), operated by LangDoc ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use LangDoc.

1. Who can use LangDoc

You must be at least 16 years old to use LangDoc. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that happens under it. Let us know right away at wrongakram@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the documents, saved lines, and other content you create in LangDoc ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, to generate translations, audio, and flashcards. We don't claim ownership over Your Content, and we don't use it to train third-party models.

You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to submit it. Don't upload content that's illegal, infringes on someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use LangDoc for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through excessive automated requests.
  • Reverse engineer or misuse the Service to build a competing product.

5. Subscriptions and billing

LangDoc offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" subscription, billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

We may change subscription pricing with advance notice before it applies to you.

6. Third-party services

LangDoc uses third-party providers — including Anthropic (translation and language features), ElevenLabs (voice), Supabase (infrastructure), and Stripe (payments) — to operate the Service. Your use of LangDoc is also subject to how these providers handle data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

You may stop using LangDoc and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably possible.

8. Disclaimers

LangDoc, including any translations, transcriptions, or language explanations it generates, is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Machine-generated translations and language content may contain errors and shouldn't be relied on for critical, legal, medical, or safety-related purposes. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LangDoc won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the app. Continued use of LangDoc after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
